What We Monitor
The following table describes each signal that Scribe Sentinel evaluates. Together, these determine your Heritage Grade and surface issues before they become outages.
| Signal | Description | Target / Threshold | |--------|-------------|---------------------| | SSL | Certificate validity, chain trust, expiry window | Valid cert; no self-signed; > 30 days to expiry | | Headers | Security and correctness of HTTP response headers | HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options present and correct | | Latency | Round-trip time from our edge to your origin | < 100 ms for Heritage tier | | TTL | Cache and DNS TTL behavior | Sensible cache headers; DNS TTL aligned with change cadence |
Interpreting Grades
- Grade A — Your infrastructure meets the Vellum Standard. All signals are within target.
- Grade B/C — Minor improvements recommended; see individual signal reports.
- Grade D/F — Structural weaknesses detected. Address SSL, headers, or latency before claiming Heritage status.
